Thriving in Leadership
Each module runs for 4 weeks with learning released online each week. For the online module there will also be a weekly webinar/discussion group tutorial; for the hybrid module there will be two in-person study days based in Sheffield. On completion of the module you will be able to:
- Critically reflect on and synthesise your professional identity, values, leadership approach and preferred ways of working; and identify your future development needs.
- Critically analyse and contextualise your leadership positionality within your own organisation, applying key organisational and sector strategic priorities to your role/service.

This module examines the following topics relative to your organisation and enables you to critically evaluate and apply them to yourself and your service:
- Strategic drivers and priorities within Social Care and Health
- Leadership styles, preferences and positionality
- Effective communication within and across settings
- Prioritising and managing competing demands
- Wellbeing, and how to thrive in leadership
Each week you will be asked to work though an online learning package containing range of resources and activities, and attend the following:

- Wellbeing, resilience and how to thrive in leadership
Each week you will be asked to work though an online learning package containing range of resources and activities, and attend the following:
In-person day 1: Wednesday 3rd February 2027 10:00-15:00. The focus of this day will be strategic priorities within your work context, organisational culture, and values; and what this means for your service.
In-person day 2: Wednesday 10th February 2027 10:00-15:00. The focus of this day will be about you as a leader: your professional identity, values and ways of working. We will also explore what it means to create an environment for others to be their authentic selves, and how we maintain our own wellbeing as a leader.
